San Diego !

We travelled to San Diego with our 6 year old Kidsetter in tow.  San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate.

After wrestling with the freeways from Palm Springs to San Diego through miles of dessert and traffic we were hit by that wonderful fresh sea air as we pulled in right next to crashing waves outside Scripps Inn.  See my tips on how to survive road trips with Kidsetters;

Road Trip Tips

The location is as close to the beach as you can get and our room was on the second floor complete with lovely living and dining area, kitchenette, bathroom and two separate bedrooms with a small wash basin in the living area.

The rooms are tastefully designed and a small rear door led on to the rear parking area (for a fee). The staff were so welcoming and we were settled in to our beachside villa in no time.

Next it was time for a wonderful stroll to the Children’s Pool where our Kidsetter enjoyed lolling around playfully on the beach.  Admittedly, there were more seals than children on the beach at ‘Children’s Pool’.  Our Kidsetter had a blast watching the seals roll around and sun bath.  Although we kept a little distance as they are still wild and seal breath is far from pleasant !

We walked on further to discover La Jolla Cove.  This is just a delightful and fairly quite spot for a stroll to take in the sea air.  We managed to get quite close to the water and dip our feet in whilst being careful of the waves and rocks.  Even spotted a few pelicans.  It was a great spot for sunset watching !

When travelling we usually split our time up between hotels and apartments to help with the logistics of washing clothes etc.  We self-catered at Scripts Inn, discovering an excellent Vons supermarket only a few streets away. Breakfast was included and we could select from fresh pastries, muesli or cereal and a juice.

We then set off to explore SeaWorld San Diego;  https://kidsetter.com/sensory-seaworld/

After a full day at SeaWorld we ventured our for another walk.  We discovered Jose’s Courtroom serving authentic Mexican as well as classic Americiana dishes.  A lively atmosphere with ocean views.

We meandered back to our apartment to enjoy a lovely outdoor seating area to watch the sun go down over the pacific ocean.

Breath in the sea air with your Kidsetters at any age and unwind; this is definitely a spot the whole family will love !
