Pacific Eden

We travelled on P&O’s ‘Pacific Eden’ cruise ship with our 4-year-old Kidsetter on route to the Broome, Western Australia.

After boarding the ship, locating our cabin, attending the safety induction, it was time to kick back and relax !

We joined the party on Deck 11 – ‘Sailaway Sounds with The Jasmine & John Duo’.  A terrific way to get our cruise started !

We checked our Kidsetter into the Turtle Cove Kids Club each day which is for ages 2 – 6.  Open from 9am to 12pm, closed between 12 – 2pm, open 2pm – 10:30pm.  There is also ‘Evening Kids Sitting’ from 10:30pm – 1am.  (Our Kidsetter goes to bed early so this has yet to be an option for us.)  They have busy schedules of activities set out for the day;

Wii Games & Lego; Wii Just Dance for Kids; Board Games; Family Scavenger Hunt; Creative Arts; Balloon Volleyball; Gatsby Headband Making; Paint Me a Picture; T-shirt Making; Bracelet Making; Card Games & Arts; Just Dance; Bobs and Statues; Outdoor Fun; Lifeboat Game; Friendship Bracelets, Hoola Hoop Competition; Balloon Games, Sleepheads Storytime, Treasure Hunt; Kids Gatsby Party; Pass the Parcel & Games; Bean Bag Toss; Talent Show Rehearsals; Beading & Turtle Bag Making; Turtle Collage; Simon Says; Family Bag Tag Making; Bookmark Making; Puppet Making; Kids Puppet Show & Pass the Parcel; Carpe Idiotus Kids Workshop & Show; Storybook Making; Ice Cream Party; Sea Creature Face Painting; Kids Whiteout Party; Sailor went to Sea; Kids Egg Hunt; Pom Pom Animal Making; Family Trivia; Under the Sea Crafts; Under the Sea Wildlife Party; Family Beaded Geckos; Magnet Making; Trashbag Fashion Show; Finger Painting; Musical Bumps; Thank you Cards; Bingo with Prizes; Kids Farewell Party; Kids Movies.

There is always plenty of activities for us too, however we tend to use the time to relax, swim, enjoy the live music and excellent dining experiences.

The restaurants and dining facilities are world class.  Various options are available; The Pantry, Angelo’s, Waterfront Restaurant, Dragon Lady, The Grill, Chef’s Table and Salt Grill by Luke Mangan.  We booked Salt Grill in advance and we were thrilled we did as it was especially a highlight on board Pacific Eden.

We love taking our Kidsetter to live theatre and find cruise shows a fabulous way to expose him to the artform.  They are included in the cost of your cruise fare, usually short in duration and easily accessible making it ideal for Kidsetters.  Anytime our Kidsetter is becoming tired we can leave and not feel like we have been cheated of our tickets.  We watched Pacific Eden’s productions starring the P&O’s Singers and Dancers in “Tributes”, “Side Show Alley”, “The Velvet Rope” and “Off the Chart’s”.

We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and decor of P&O’s ‘Pacific Eden’.  An excellent option to spend quality family time without the hassle of having to perform daily chores, it is all taken care for you and your Kidsetter.
