What could be more spectacular than celebrating New Year’s Eve in Paris? It had been some years since we had taken our Kidsetter to Paris and knew it would be a special place to appreciate NYE as a family.
We rented a grand apartment located near the Eiffel Tower with an amazing view of this glorious city.
We didn’t’ want to have to travel very far on what would invariably be a cold, wintery NYE night so finding a location with views of the Eiffel Tower was paramount. The unique apartment set in a lovely old building, with a tiny vintage elevator that carry’s you and maybe a Kidsetter up to your apartment floor. We received a thoughtful welcome gift upon arrival – a lovely box of French chocolates with a card wishing us a Happy New Year. We were astonished with breath taking views of the Eiffel Tower – this was truly a dream come true.
We prepared for NYE by stocking up on a few extravagances for the evening to help bring in the New Year with a bang. We indulged in some incredible Laduree cakes (that didn’t have any calories). Opened a French bottle of Champagne and relaxed to watch the dancing, sparkling light show upon the Eiffel Tower and absorb the ambience of the Parisian life.
The people of Paris and France mark the start of every New Year with a magnificent Parade along what is arguably the most stunning Avenue in the world – the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. Marching bands, street entertainment and Christmas festivities for the whole family. The atmosphere is irresistible.
It is difficult not to visit a museum whilst in Paris. Musee de Rodin was no exception. Being able to stand before August Rodin’s ‘The thinker’ was quite an experience, however seeing the ‘Doors of Hell’ in their entirety was even more special. Magnificent gardens where Kidsetters can roam free and play.
On our final day in Paris, we dined at 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant. Our Kidsetter loved riding in the Eiffel Tower’s elevator up to the first floor. Lunch at 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant is served in a chic picnic basket at your restaurant table. This is a fun, quirky method of receiving your meal for Kidsetters and adults alike. The view from your table as you dine is breathtaking !
