We travelled with our 8-year-old Kidsetter to stunning Barbados. It’s pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and welcoming atmosphere, is a paradise for families looking to explore fun activities with their kidsetters. From the bustling capital of Bridgetown to the serene Carlisle Bay, there’s no shortage of exciting adventures waiting to be discovered.
One of the highlights of a family trip to Barbados is a visit to Carlisle Bay. This idyllic beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and soft sandy shores, making it a perfect spot for kidsetters to play and swim.
Kidsetters can also get up close and personal with marine life by snorkeling in the bay. The bay is home to a variety of colorful fish and even sea turtles, offering an unforgettable underwater experience for kidsetters of all ages.
For a dose of culture and history, a trip to Bridgetown is a must. The capital city is a treasure trove of historical sites, including the UNESCO-listed Garrison Historic Area. Families can explore the historic forts, such as Charles Fort and St. Ann’s Fort, which once defended the island from invaders. Additionally, the Barbados Museum and Historical Society provides an engaging and educational experience for kidsetters interested in learning about the island’s past.
Another delightful stop is the Pelican Craft Centre in Bridgetown. Here, Kidsetters can watch local artisans at work, creating beautiful handmade crafts.
From pottery to jewelry and intricate woodcarvings, the center is a fantastic place for kidsetters to appreciate the craftsmanship of Barbados.
They may even get a chance to try their hand at crafting and create a unique souvenir to take home. We met a gorgeous local girl who was very chatty.
As the sun sets, the family-friendly fun continues with Barbados’ lively nightlife scene. There are plenty of options that welcome families with open arms. The Harbour Lights Beach Extravaganza is one such place.
Located on Carlisle Bay, this open-air venue offers a buffet dinner, live music, and even a fire limbo show, making it a memorable evening for kidsetters and parents alike.
The Pelican Craft Centre and the family-friendly nightlife options add a touch of culture and excitement to a family vacation in this Caribbean gem.
When the heat became too much for our Kidsetter we were able to catch a mini railway to transport us from one location to another. It was a fun experience.
Barbados is a fantastic destination for families seeking adventure and fun activities. From the serene beaches of Carlisle Bay to the historical sites of Bridgetown, the island offers a diverse range of experiences for kidsetters to enjoy.
